🥾 Hiking the Ancient Mycenaean Roads. In the Footsteps of the Atreides
🌿 The Mycenaean civilization left not only myths… it left roads that travel through time.
In the 14th century BC, Mycenaean chariots moved on roads up to 5 meters wide, passing over carefully constructed bridges. Some of these road construction projects survive to this day and bring ancient mechanical and architectural craftsmanship alive before us.
On the ancient roads we see pairs of grooves that served the wheeled vehicles of the time, and we learn about the Amphictyons who designed and supervised their creation.
